A development team from the Rams squad claimed two victories from two after impressive displays against Tyne and Tees Tigers and an AFLCNE select side in the Triangular Tournament held in North Shields on 25th May.

European Vice captain, Luke Booth, tried his hand at coaching, whilst playing alongside players getting their first full run out for the team.

Speaking after the games, Luke said: "We had a lot of new players and it's a shame we didn't have as many as we would have liked.

"Everyone is showing a lot of potential and has stuck to what we came here to do, which was to skill up a bit better and understand the game more." (To see the full post-match interview click here)

The team consisted of two more experience players - Luke Booth and Graham Bickerdike - and was completed by father and son duo Nick and Alex Overton, James 'Mario' Clayton, Anthony 'AB' Brown, Matt Jaggar and John Piper, who all showed their desire to play first team footy with spirited performances.

The tournament, hosted by Tyne and Tees Tigers, was a great advert for the UK Aussie Rules game in terms or the development of home-grown talent and giving less experienced players a chance to get some game time under their belts.

The Rams next fixtures will be played in Sheffield, where they face Manchester Mosquitoes for the second time in as many games.
