The squad for the first game of the 2014 AFLCNE season has been announced. It includes both newly named vice-captains and two debutants.  

There is a first team line-up to face Sheffield (Ball Up: 1pm) and a development squad (Ball Up 4:30pm), both of which play in Manchester on Saturday afternoon.

Luke Booth makes a shock return to the squad as a rotation following his knee surgery. New announced vice-captain Brandon Fletcher and James Clayton also make the team. Debutants to the league Dom Clough and Robert Yates also earn a place. The full team is below

The first team: Graham Bickerdike, Luke Booth, Anthony Brown, James Clayton (VC), Dom Clough, Dave Durrance, Brandon Fletcher (VC), Karl Haigh, Stephen Hall, Alex Overton, Ross Shirtliffe, Matt Whiteley (C), Robbie Wilson, Robert Yates.

A host of new players have joined the Rams following successful close-season recruitment. Add to that the schools draft and the club has a development team bursting to taste some action. The full development squad is below:
